EdgeStar Countertop Portable Dishwasher for 6 Place Settings - Silver Review

I looked for a lot of months for a countertop dishwasher, and read numerous, lots of reviews. I finally settled on this one as it seemed to fit my requirements and garnered decent press. I was leary at first since all I can keep in mind are those beautiful bubble-top countertop "dishwashers" from the 60's and 70's that did small extra than rinse the dishes. Was I ever mistaken. The carton arrived a week earlier than estimated, with definitely no damage (extremely nicely packed). The instructions are straightforward, and putting the adaptor on the kitchen sink took less than a minute. Then it was merely a matter of hand-tightening the connections, and presto! it was ready to go. The inside of this dishwasher swallowed a total service for 6 (I tried - with 10.5" plates no less), with some space left over for several serving dishes. It has various cycles to choose from, and I've identified that the glasses only cycle appears to function well for many of my day-to-day wants. It has a built-in heater (to 149), as well as the wastewater discharge is pumped - not gravity-fed, so you could spot this dishwasher lower than the sink. The exterior is quite sleek and no-nonsense, with few bells and whistles that could eventually go wrong. And it does a phenomenal job! I've but to find any unclean dishes or utensils when it's carried out. It does take a whilst, however, with the heavy cycle lasting 112 minutes, normal - 85 minutes, eco - 77 minutes, glasses - 71 minutes, speed - 45 minutes, and soak - 10 minutes. It also has delayed start in increments of 2 hours, up to 8 hours. The interior is all stainless steel, and it sounds like quality (if there's such a thing) once you close the door. Yes, it is actually fairly noisy, but most dishwashers are, and this one is setting out within the open on a countertop - so I can very easily live with that. The rinse-aid dispenser even has a warning light that comes on when it wants to be refilled, and Edgestar also lists the appropriate amount of detergent to use. This last is dependent on the nearby water, and you will need to make a call to get the "grain count" (hardness level) of your water, but that wasn't even an annoyance for me. Overall, I am pretty pleased with this unit. It does take up considerable countertop space, so measure carefully - it barely fit under my cabinets, but was convinced to go lastly. It really does a full-size job in a countertop package. I undoubtedly suggest this to any individual who's not a large loved ones - it works amazingly well for 1, 2 or even three men and women. And it's very water and power effective.
